Early Years

Early years education is a transformative and magical period in a child's life. It provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. Through play, exploration, and purposeful experiences, early years education lays the foundation for a lifelong love of learning, social and emotional development, and a solid academic journey. At Tender Olives School, the young learners are engaged in a remarkable journey filled with joy, discovery, and endless possibilities. A few things are at the core of our Early years program. We recognize the Power of Play. We believe that Play is at the heart of early years education. It is through play that children explore, experiment, and make sense of the world around them. Play encourages imagination, creativity, and problem-solving skills. It fosters social interactions, cooperation, and empathy, helping children develop vital social and emotional skills.

Holistic Development:

Our Early years program also focuses on nurturing a child's holistic development. We recognize that children are unique individuals with diverse abilities, interests, and learning styles. By providing a range of experiences, such as art, music, language, science, and physical activities, we support the development of various skills and promotes a well-rounded growth in our young learners.

LEARNING IN THE EARLY YEARS (EYFS)

Our practice is based on the 7 broad areas of learning of the British EYFS curriculum. Each child's progress and developments are tracked and reported based on the Early Learning Goals (ELGs). These areas of learning include;

The prime Areas -
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development

The Specific Areas -
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive Arts and Design

We know that the early years of any child are the most important phase in a child's life therefore we are deliberate and intentional about providing meaningful and challenging yet playful opportunities that will support every child meet their learning and developmental milestones, thereby preparing them for the real world.
